An Open Letter To Attorney General Garth Wilkin and Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley
To the Honourable Attorney General Garth Wilkin, and Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley:
The people of St. Kitts and Nevis are still waiting. We were promised a "housing revolution" with 2,400 climate-smart homes through the East Coast Housing Development project. Yet, two years in, only two homes have been completed and delivered.
This isn't just a delay; it's a massive disappointment for thousands of families desperately seeking affordable, safe housing.
As the Attorney General responsible for legal affairs, and the Deputy Prime Minister leading Housing, can you provide a clear, definitive timeline for when this stalled project will be restarted and completed? What concrete steps are being taken today to recover any funds potentially lost and ensure accountability for this significant setback? Mr. AG and Mr. Deputy Prime Minister, if you both hired a contractor to renovate your respective homes, and after three years nothing was done, although you haven't lost money, haven't you lost progress?
Our citizens deserve more than just promises; they deserve homes. When will these critical housing solutions truly materialize for the families who need them most? When will our people see the progress?
